Dachshunds are beautiful breeds and there are a lot of things good about Dachshunds. They come in different sizes and colors. The large standard breeds are commonly seen, but the smaller ones are called Tweeners. Some breeds are short-haired, wirehead, and the longhaired. These curious, loving creatures are a joy to be with; they play games and come with an excellent sense of humor.

There are dog owners who would do all they can just to enjoy the things good about Dachshunds breeds. They are best when trained in pairs. They make lovely companions too, but they come with some features that may be worrisome.

Good Things About Dachshunds

1. Size:

They come in different sizes, colors, and coats; if you are a dog parent who gives preference to colors, you will not be disappointed when it comes to the Dachshunds. Smaller Dachshunds are available to fit into your small apartment. Black, grey, and reddish-brown are available to suit your taste.

2. Entertaining and Social:

They are entertaining and comical; Dachshunds ranks above several dog breeds when it comes to intelligence. You can exploit this intelligence in the games they play. With their fun nature, you can see that they interact intelligently with their environment.

3. Loyalty:

Loyalty; Dachshunds do not joke around when it comes to their loyalty. Once you are identified as their owner, you will have their undivided loyalty.

Good walk-dog; you can take your Dachshunds for a stroll and not be worried about stressing it. They require some daily exercise routine for their physical health.

4. Security Dog:

Good security dog; Dachshunds will watch over the house for you to ward off any intruder. They are compassionate and will bark immediately they sense any foreigner around.

Things You May Not Like About Dachshunds

Stubbornness:

Stubborn; are difficult to train because of their stubbornness. To get rid of this, you may have to start training your Dachshunds from a very young age. But you should be prepared for a little bit of stubbornness when you get a Dachshund.

Excessive Barking:

Excessive barking; is a noise hazard. Yes, your Dachshunds will give you that in surplus. You have to get used to the frequent barks that come with having a Dachshund.

Digging Holes:

Digging holes; except you have all your yard covered in concrete; you should be wary of incessant diggings; they become dirty when they dig, and you will have to clean them up. If the Dachshunds stay inside the house, they may tear up your couch or bed.

Spinal problems; Dachshunds are prone to having spinal injuries. And this can be very costly to treat. To prevent this, ensure you prevent your Dachshund from jumping from high surfaces.

 

There are lots of features good about Dachshunds, but they also come with a few challenges. It would help if you prepared for these challenges as soon as you make your mind to own one.
